San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco is no doubt the most famous and one of the most impressive bridges in North America and the entire world.

Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. Ferry service began as early as 1820, with regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for purposes of transporting water to San Francisco.

There are many spots from which you can take pictures of the bridge, I particularly liked the one at “Front Point”, right under the bridge on the San Francisco side. This angle is the best one to capture how big the bridge is.

If you happen to be around, put on your Jacket, bring your tripod and try to catch some of the sunset rays if there is no fog that day.

There are many great movies filmed in San Francisco, some of my favorite are “Bullitt”, with the great Steve McQueen. “The Bachelor” with Chris O’Donnel and RenĂ©e Zellweger. O the famous Alfred Hitchcock movie “Vertigo”.
